Long Way Ahead
Sorry for the lack of updates recently.
In between website problems, too many commitments (my fault entirely) and the oncoming trip to Japan, my laptop has decided to die on me and had to be sent in for resurrection. The translations, being on the laptop, will have to wait until I come back home next week. Gomen.
I’m flying tonight for the last leg of the Michishirube Tour. As usual, I’ve left too much to be done today and with a last minute dinner added in before the flight, I woke up feeling pretty grumpy. So I got really stroppy with my son when he started arguing back……which of course made me feel even worse and I was kicking myself all the way home after dropping him off for school. But I had to rush, there were so many loose ends to tie up and no time.
Then I met an old lady in the lobby at home, a tiny frail figure but with a magnificant resounding voice as she greeted people around and thanked them for holding the door for her. She’d obviously been to the market and had got her supplies for the day. She was holding her walking stick instead of using it. We started talking in the lift (elevator) and I asked how old she was. “I’m 93″ she said, “I can’t see and hear very well now.”
Suddenly, nothing at this moment seemed that important anymore. I counted in my head - to reach her age, I had more than half a century more to go. There’s plenty of time. All that rushing about seemed pointless, and it made forget the most important thing in the world. My son, who’s never been a conformer, is probably going to have another bad day at school because Mom got off on the wrong side of bed.
We need to cuddle up, chat about dragonball and make amends when he comes home today. And if it means I forget to pack my underwear for the trip, then so be it.

I am late in reading this post and you’re probably over it by now….but still…cuddle..cuddle.
I am also the kind which gets stressed easily and rushes around like crazy when the pressure is on. So I am very grateful to my husband who has been putting up with this. I am sure the last concert was great and you had enjoyed it! So this time, you went by yourself!?
Thanks xiaoxin! Guess I have to constantly remind myself what my priorities are.
Yes, my son didn’t come for Yoyogi since he’s in the middle of school. Hopefully, next time!
